Market beside the Pacific: gulls circling overhead, sea creatures squirming in tubs of salt water, men and women scooping fresh fishes with their nets and pulling won from their wallets.

Negotiating for a fish

Evening picnic overlooking the Pacific. The bright lights of squid boats dotted the horizon, becoming more apparent as the sun fell behind the mountains. This night we went to a fish market beside the sea and watched the fish prisoners swimming around in white tubs. Maeg and I stood in the rain, our wide eyes following movements of the trapped sea creatures in tubs, as the Yi brothers sought out an ugly cuttlefish to take for dinner. Only minutes later, we had fresh sushi to take home for our evening picnic.
